My Piseco My Life
by Dick Amadon
My Piseco My Life is an engaging autobiography by author Dick Amadon in which he shares his story and journey on the place he refers to as “My Piseco.” Amadon grew up in Piseco, a small upstate New York town in the least populated county of Hamilton in the heart of the Adirondacks. He was led away from “My Piseco” as an adult where responsibilities took him to various construction projects that were farther and farther away from this great place.
He finally returned and then got involved with various groups and even the town politics. Time flies by and the town goes through the motions of being “My Piseco.” Amadon shares that change has happened to his hometown like so many others throughout the Adirondacks. Gone was the self-reliant feeling of those days from the 1940s through the 1960s that saw towns and communities grow up.
